Abstract: Based on the dynamic monitoring data of China's floating population in 2016 and taking the floating population as the object, this paper utilizes the multi-dimensional employment quality indexes (job pay working hours, labor contract and social security) to measure and investigate employment quality. The study finds that the employment quality of the population who migrate alone is better than that of the population who migrate with their family members. Among the floating population who migrate with their family members, family members, gender of the floating population, nature of the employer, educational background, scope of migration, distribution area, etc., have different levels of effects on the employment quality of the floating population. This shows that the employment quality of the population who migrate with their family members can be improved, by standardizing and optimizing the operating mechanism and capacities of the employers, guaranteeing the equal educational rights of their children, helping the floating population who migrant together with their parents reduce the burden of caring for the elderly, and strengthening the psychological counseling and investment in further education and job training.
